MUSIC VIDEO REMASTERING DELIVERABLES

In general, vendors should keep in mind that UMG may want to repurpose any work done in the remastering process for different formats of release. E.g. regrade a conformed film scan for HDR instead of SDR or remix audio for Atmos instead of Stereo. Therefore, vendors should use their best judgement on what assets UMG may need to effectively accomplish creation of different video versions, based on what actual work was performed. The below list are examples of common assets UMG would want to receive.

The following shall be delivered via Ci Media Cloud upload. Please consult your UMG contact to obtain an appropriate Ci file request link or Ci upload location for your project.

Video

  • Final SDR graded video file muxed with remastered audio and conformed to UMG Video Servicing Spec.
  • Raw digital file(s) / transfer of video source(s) used for the remaster.
  • If remastering work was done from a film scan:
    • 1. ProRes 4444 XQ of ungraded film scan conformed to final edit in native transfer function / color space of scan (presumably Cineon Log).
      • Should include any recreated VFX or film artifact clean-up in an ungraded state.
      • Shots with overlapping transitions (e.g. cross dissolves) should be present sans transition, but with sufficient handles to rebuild.
    • 2. An accompanying EDL for #1 that can be used to split out each shot.
    • 3. NLE project file used to conform the raw film scan to the final edit.

Audio

  • Music source(s) used on remastered video’s soundtrack.
  • When more than one audio source used for remastered soundtrack (multiple music tracks, sound effects, etc):
    • AAF export that contains all audio elements split out onto separate tracks.
